The Culture and Libraries Sub-comittee of the Culture and Leisure Committee sets goals for the culture and library services and monitors their realisation. The committee submits a statement to the Culture and Leisure Committee on the performance budget and action plan.
Additionally, the Sub-committee handles the responsibilities related to allocating grants for the implementation of art and culture activities and grants intended for implementing culture policy. The sub-committee approves the primary and secondary school art education plans.
The City Council appoints the sub-committees’ members, deputies and Chairs from among its actual members for the City Council’s period of office.
The Sub-committee has nine members. Each member has a personal deputy member.
